North on Scottsdale Road, Right on McKellips, keep going until you see a portly bearded fellow with a race-terrified look on his face and a transmitter in his shaking hand. That'll be me. Park and enjoy !! :beerchug:

You can zoom out on this map for the big picture

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=33.453169,-111.912784&spn=0.003898,0.006915&t=h&z=18

It is the northwest corner of McKellips Road and Hayden Road/McClintock Road. It is Hayden north of McKellips and McClintock south of McKellips.

I guess I'll never be able to live down my lap-counting incompetence -[ but it's not fair to make fun of the dain bramaged ]

Dave - do you plan on using the electronic system Lenny / District 19 has? We used it at Vegas and it is very cool. Very nearly "Tony Proof"!!

I t/t Lenny about it a few weeks ago. It sounds slick, but it may be WAAYYY too labor intensive for our race. We'll see!

I did sent Tony an email link of a counting exercise he can practice for the next 85 days. He really should have 1-2-3-4-5-6 down by Feb 26, 2010.

At the Vegas race once it was set up it was basically run all weekend by two young ladies sitting at the scoring computer. But I am not clear on the behind the scenes on it so it may well be a PITA to set up. But it did look easy to run.

Pit man simply presses a button each time the driver passes the S/F line. The system automatically counts laps, and announces lap count. Very slick.

I'll talk to Lenny again about it. In my post above, I was thinking of the system that was used at the Gas Nats in Washington. Each driver had a pitman AND a driver judge. The driver judge pulled the trigger for each lap. It sounds like having the pit guys doing it would work.

How about three young ladies on the stand. We could press a :censored: for each lap and count the squeals :thumbup1:

I'll second that motion, but that means we'll need to number the :censored:'s.... and that limits the number of drivers to six per heat.
I'll bet every driver get's a lot more laps than they actually run.... but only if their pit man can get through the crowd around the young ladies...:thumbup1:
