I am now in need of 2 servos, one for the Syncron I have and the other for the Jolly Cat I am waiting for, what servos are you guys using? High torque I am assuming, but which ones? How do you waterproof them as well?

thanks

The Syncron would be fine on a standard 42 in-oz servo, the Jolly with an over-60 in-oz servo. You should always use a 6.0 volt receiver pack to increase servo power and speed. For those boats I'd use 5-cell, 1200 to 1400 mAh NiMH packs.

I always use JR Z590s . Plenty of torque & they are afordable.

I use Hitec HS-225MG and HS- 645MG.

Sorry, I missed the waterproofing question. Here is what I do:

* Open bottom of case and spray inside with CorrosionX. Let dry then close.
* Coat case seams and wire exit with silicone or GOOP
* Remove servo horn and pack opening with petroleum jelly, then re-install horn.

This isn't perfect but it will work in most cases.

thanks for the waterproofing info Smock, it was real easy. I ended up with a JR ST126MG it is a heck of a servo, I had the 590 in my hand then my buddy showed me this one and it will work in almost any boat in my opinion 142oz/in speed 6.0v .17sec.

thanks for the help and recommendations
