There seems to be alot of threads regarding the UL-1 shutting off
so i might aswell start my own... ;)

Ok this is the prob...

I recived my UL1 a cpl weeks ago and its from the new batch with "turnfin fix" etc.

Today i tried on a 40x52/3 propp and it ran well for a cpl runs...
Suddenly the boat stops and just floats around beeping...

Beep-beep-beep-beep.. for about 20 secs and then finishes with a louder beep
and then im able to re-arm and run for maybe 4 secs and then it stops and starts beeping again.

Everything is stock and i run 2 x 5000 Mah Bronto SP - NiMh

i put the stock propp back on and the problem is still there...

The 40x52/3 propp i tried was only sharpend a lil bit but not balanced.

it cant be a heating prob becozz i can only run 3-4 secs full throtthe
and wait 20 secs ;)

have i "killed" the Esc or whats the prob?!?

Hopefully it's just the cap that's bad, look close at the end, it shouldn't be bulged at all.
It can also leak brown fluid.
Mine puffed after running at only part throttle on a windy day.
Now with 2 new ones from Kintec I've had no problems.
Check out this thread for replacement.

Wow, I thought NiMh was dead in the FE RTR series. I am glad someone else uses them. :buttrock: I am using some 6800mAh Superpower battery packs that I bought on E-bay. When I first received the battery packs, I took off the original wiring using solder tools. I then soldered a piece of 12 gauage regular household extension wire to the terminals. I decided to give it a test try. I connected it and put it in the water and fully throttled it. To my dismay, the boat died after a one second run. So then I was nervous that it may be my ESC, but I thought about how the ESC works. The ESC cuts off with low voltage. So I decided to try soldering a piece of 10 guage to the bottom of the battery packs to aid the piece of tin strip with "current" flow. On the second attempt, success! :thumbup1:

I checked the Cap and it at first sight it was not bulged but i could feel that it was and if you looked cloosly from diffrent angles you could se a tiny "raise" on the top.

I pulled it of so its dead now anyway ;)

What to do now?

I saw someone here who got a new ESC from Aquacraft
is this something thats coverd by the warranty?
