Sweet video's Tony. I have been trying to run down here the last 2 weeks. Nothing but rain. You and Jan's videos helped ease the need.

Great video Tony and a very nice running boat :rockon2:. By far the DF is my favorite boat to run. Nice and stable even at high speed and they turn like their on rails. Great job.

Nice vid. Infact I had to watch it twice, since I can't get out to the lake anytime soon. Those DF hulls sure run really nice. :beerchug:

Just caught a glimpse of a Black Stryker F41 in the video. That may be my next gas hull (RCMK powered).

Yup ! Legg Lake is predominently a gas/nitro venue. The calm water only occurs between the big boys churnin' it up !

The boat is actually a DF clone I bought used a few years ago. I gutted it, moved the motor to the back & the batt's on the centerline to minimize chine-wobble. I orginally ran a 1515 1Y with a M445 but needed the motor for another project so I installed a 1521 1.5D I bought from Jan. Roughly the same top end with a 447/3but way more speed in the turns. The boat turns really wet & the 1521 1.5D with the 3-blade carves turns without slowing down as much as with the 1515 1Y. Big Speedmaster tabs [SPD 200's] set at O deg to prevent blowovers. Speedmaster .21 nitro rudder cut down about 5/8" or so. .187 flex. Made a rudder mount from heavy duty aluminum to reduce flex; the stock Speedmaster bracket would bend from cornering forces ! OSE turn fins. Hydra 240 with Etti caps, CC BEC, Elite 35C 4S 5000's, Tactic Tx/Rx.
The boat's about worn out but still rips. The DF is longer at the waterline than the Cyber 32 & the Rico 31; she will stuff the bow & disappear if she hits the wrong wave . When the time comes [:crying:] I'm thinking Rico 31.

The 29" Phantom Cat looks interesting on this guy's site. The 33" you just bought should be an interesting P- class boat ; "spec" means UL-1 motor or similar - a 33" hull might be a little big for that power. For P class, a budget setup could use a 9XL & Chinese SC. P mono & P offshore class with the same boat - think about it.

Douggie, you're absolutely right; should'a put it on my list. Great rough water handling. Yours is gorgeous, BTW.

Here's a Liz Ex [ with substitute canopy] kicking my butt in racewater - He was running smooth & I was all over the place :
