Very nice Jan. You people sure have it good having access to Lake Legg or is is Legg Lake. Great camera and camera man.
Tony's DF33 is of great interest too as I am building one myself.
Looks like you guys had a great day.

Thanks Paddy...
it in deed was a great day, the "Legg Lake Moster" did not claim any boats today.
;)
Tony's DF33 is awesome to see, soooo fricking fast and handles GREAT... considering I am not a Mono man myself, that means a lot.
I owe you an email BTW

That's it!!! I'm laying up a new one for myself sunday morning. I haven't had one running in a couple years. Time to remind my club mates what tat boat is capable of.

Boat looks good. Do you have an airdam under the front end?

Ub Hauled

No air dam yet Brian... so far she's sticking the straights,
2 lap setup, maybe I can get her ready.

Great video. I was lucky enough to snag one of those hulls myself. BJ motor and esc, wire drive and a ball bearing strut. Couldn't be happier. Any pics of the how you set the inside up?

Your Camera man rocked! I tried to take a few videos myself. Ended up with 3 minutes of rooster tails and 20 seconds of the boats on the screen.

Do it!! I was the one talking to you a few weeks ago about the ride pads I assumed came with the boat. That hull really does great with spec power. For what ever reason (I don't know crap about what makes hulls work) it didn't seem to mind rough water at all. Oh ya, post pics please.

If I'm not mistaken,[ Brian correct me if I'm wrong about the hull] a Dark Horse Shovel holds the NAMBA LSO SAW record set in 2006 by Dick Crowe : 56.25 mph with a brushed SS1 on 12 NIMH's !! Dick offered to sell me the boat after the race; wish I'd done it

raptor347
09-12-2009, 02:48 PM
Dick's LSH record was set with a scratch built wood pickle fork.

The DH does hold:
Namba-SAW records.
N2 sport hydro-67.81 mph (NiMH)
O sport hydro-64.86 mph (NiMH)

IMPBA-SAW records.
N2 sport hydro-77.506 mph (LiPo)
O2 sport hydro- 67.044 mph (NiMH)
P sport hydro- 80.964 mph (NiMH)

I think it still hold 3 5/8 mile heat records as well.

[QUOTE=properchopper;123664]If I'm not mistaken,[ Brian correct me if I'm wrong about the hull] a Dark Horse Shovel holds the NAMBA LSO SAW record/QUOTE]

Whoops, I meant LSH , not LSO [ I took the LSO record that year] Dick's boat was a shovel, white, red & blue. Record still stands in LSH.

Dick actualy ran my Mariner Too for the N-2 record. He'd broken all his toys by noon on saturday so I handed him my DH to run for the rest of the weekend. He ran his own design for the LSH record. Trust me, I teched the boat.

The specs for the DH Shovel:
Length 25"
Beam 11.5"
Tunnel width 6.5"
AP 13.5"

Ray Fuller will have 3 gray primered hulls on tuesday. If you want one in raw glass, contact me directly.

Jan, may I ask what hardware you are using, as I have purchased one from Brian and I have never run a shovel design hydro. I will use an SV27 motor and ESC as I already have that power setup.

Thanks,

Douggie

Ub Hauled

Sure Douggie...
I don't know what hardware it is... I think the strut is Aeromarine, but I am not sure about the rudder and assembly.
I'll take a pic
An SV motor setup right will yield a lot of fun...

Glad you like. I try to build something that I'd be happy with if I was paying for it.

I'll get you measurements in the morning. I still feel like garbage, this bug is lasting way too long. For that matter, I may be back at the doctors tomorrow.

OK, with a SV27 motor and ESC, 4S power what would the bald idiot from California and the refinened gentleman from Washington recommend for hardware and cog etc. Tony you are excluded as you are running a piece of foreign crap, :just-kidding:unless you say I love American products 1000 times

IIRC, the S220 is comparable to an X645. Maybe even closer to an X545.

The P-220 is 43.689 mm. Great prop, one of my favorites  Fast & unloads well .
