    Recovery boat

I got the idea from a person on RC universe and decided to put my own together. It was easy to assemble, took about 20 minutes and works perfect! Will push almost any boat in from my micro hydro to my 1/8th scale Llumar. Yesterday my buddies were throwing the boats in the water just to use the boat, it was funny to see them.

    here are a few pics

The villain's have a lot of torque. They are slow suckers, and they bounce like crazy....But I have the 7.2 volt version I am gonna do the same with. I know 159$ sounds expensive for a rescue boat, but I have read they work extremely well, and seeinf the time and effort I put into these things, it nice to have something to just grab them with. Real easy and quick.

Let's not forget how sharp the villain turns. It turns on a dime so getting the dead boat into the cradle, even in wind I am sure is not to diffacult.

I wonder if you put a lower gear, and a bigger prop if you could get more torque and pulling power with the same heat.

Could you take some close up shots of what you used to attach the cradle to the hull with. I like it!

this boat works perfect for pushing anything in, remember the way it is set up the boat is on a plane right away and gets to the boat easily and right around it and reverse is very use full as well.

I have used a tennis ball (did not like at all), tried a different boat Zig Zag with the ball catcher and that was too hard this is very very easy and works well.

Worth every penny when I have one of my boats out floating

the Traxxas Blast probably would work out pretty well too.

I currently am using my Shockwave 26 as my rescue rig...used a similar 1/2" PVC set-up as you did....it works great and reverse is helpful as you stated.....try to use some 45 degree fittings on the very front and she'll cut through the chop even better......mine is just a big H configuration and when the SW26 and the rig sit in the water they are at the same level (by design) and all I did was install velcro on the rig and the SW26 for attachment.

I'm sure those boats work well, but my thing is, for the price, Which now that the villain is lowered down into the 150$ range, it's a better boat . SW26 is 139, The twin screws just push a ton of water, so pushing a big boat is no problem.

I went to home depot today and for 1.22$ each I got 4 eight foot lengths of 1/2 inch PVC. I got a ton of elbows, 45's and T's and my total bill was 16.50. It's cheap to make this thing. All I gotta get now are some cheap pool tubes.

Wicked, can you post some close up shots of the way you attached the PVC cradle on? please.

SWEET! Gotta love rescue boats. I swam for my last boat the other night from now on it's all villain! :D

EDIT: O and I forgot to mention, my 16.50 got me enough PVC and ends to make this rescue cradle, and a few boat stands. Like I said. CHEAP!

here are some mounting pictures, just shot a screw into the boat and sealed it with some epoxy, did the same on the PVC pipe.

hope this helps answer some questions

                              Later dudes.
