BEC on stock receiver and 7 cell packs???

So, I am still using the stock receiver on my SV27 and ever since I started using 7 cell 8.4V packs the boat starts jolting/turning irradically and I can't control it. It doesn't do this all the time, just some times. I read somewhere on here that the BEC receiver can't handle the extra juice, so I bought a separate receiver battery pack but I'm still having the same problems. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it??

    thanks

You MUST remove the Red wire from the plug of 3 sets of wires that leave your ESC and go to your Receiver.

You can either cut the wire or pop the metal prong out of the plastic plug that plugs into the receiver.

              Your hobby shop did that?

              WOW!!!

              What a hack job.

Clean up all of those wires and post a better picture.

Your hobby shop did "all that work" and failed to relocated the antenna to the transom and completely seal up your radio box.

I would take your boat back to them if i were you.
Much better off with doing things your self with out help here at OSE.

I've been searching all the posts for an answer, but can't solve this one....I have a Castle 240HV 6S setup with separate 6V receiver pack....When I removed the red wire from the ESC to the receiver, I got no arming....When I reconnected the red wire, everything works fine....I thought that when you install a separate receiver pack, you were supposed to remove the red wire on the ESC?

All my Castle 240LV controllers run great with an external battery pack (6 volts) with the red wire disconnected. I have never used the BEC feature with any of them. If yours does not run then something else is wrong. If it does not arm, try setting the throttle trim in different positions.

When you posted those photos, what did you expect? You expected folks to comment on the work - and that is what happened. The photos showed us nothing about which wire was connected to what, about the only comment to make was about what we saw. So yes, you DID ask what we thought.

Maybe because mine is the HV version? When I disconnected the red wire from esc to receiver, and nothing worked, I left the 6V receiver pack plugged in and then re-connected the red wire and the esc came to life. I was then able to program it....I'm just not sure if something really bad is about to happen by having both 6V pack and esc red wire connected when I go to run it...very wierd..
