    Here are some pics of my latest attempt to shorten the Canadian winter.

    Ready for the water. SV controller, 9XL on 4S and a really neat water-cooled motor mount

        How is it's big brother doing?

        What prop are you going to run on this boat?

          Hey Rich, what're you working on? We won't have another HOTMBC race until early January so we're all buildin' new boats. I have a new P Sport Hydro and LSH, and will build a new LSO cat later in January. Sure wish we all could run together again soon....

            Looks neatly prepared...

            One comment... keeping the weight low will almost ALWAYS be a benefit to the handling of the boat. Your boat will handle better if you move the ESC down onto the deck in front of the motor. It's WAY up there right now, and it is a substantial piece of weight at the speeds you'll be going.

            It'll be interesting to see how the SV27 ESC holds up to that motor/setup...

              Hi Darin;

              I'll take the speed controller location under consideration. I have been using that motor / controller combination in 3 different boats for almost 3 years now with no issues at all. I pulled the combination out of my 1/12th Llumar hydro and its a tad smaller, but also a bit heavier so I anticipate no problems, always nice and cool.

              I will start with the standard SV 3 bladed prop (which got the Llumar to the mid 40's,,,although a bit unstable due to the batteries being way to far back). From that prop, I'll start experimenting

              In the Vegas with the LiPos up front, it balances out about 1.5 inches from the back of the sponsons so it should be a lot more stable

              Hi Rich;

              Good to see you back and about!
              The 1/8 Llumar is not bad, the weight distribution is a n issue that I'm working on over the winter. Hey, did you get the cooling jacket back, I sent it about a month or more ago

              As for prop suggestions, I'm open to inputs.

                Is she still on the 1/8 prop shaft? Or did you upgrade to the 3/16?

                    With a strong ESC, sport hydros of similar size and weight often pair the 9XL with an m445 to m645 prop. With the SV controller I have no idea, but I suggest around an x442 to start.

                      what do i need to convert her? is there an easy way? like just taking the electronics off another model? i like nitro, but i dont like it for boats.....i hate when my engine stalls out in the middle of the pond.

                          Doby, What hardware did you end up using on back? I know you changed to 3/16 propshaft, so which strut, and same rudder or different?
                          My prop hasn't been wet in a while.
