I miss read your first post Brad. I thought it said you were running in choppy water and then I saw the vid in that little pond and though"he has to be kidding"...I had to re read your post before I realize what was really going on.

Its going to be really hard to tell how welll its set up untill you get it in a larger body of water. Have you tried any other props on it? That hull should be able to handle a pretty good diameter prop.

My 40" mono cornered a lot like that at lower speeds. This one sounds like its cavitating a lot, partly because its a heavy boat and barely on plane at the speeds required to corner in that little pond. A bigger prop will help get it out of the water in the corners.

Ya its digging bad. That was the very first run. I know the ponds way to small but I was getting ancy to run it and mother nature's wind was making the lake WAY to ruff. Next prop choice will be a X450 or a S240 on 5s2p still. Also I'm going to add a little postive strut angle to the stinger in hopes of getting the nose up a bit.

If everything was "ICE COLD" after your run with the x648, I would try the x457. See if the 1717 can turn it on 5s...Its just a small step up in load from your last prop but it will get her out of the water a lot more...I bet you like it. Are you running any kind of a data logger so you know what kind of current its pulling?

Lipo's came in at 89* everything else was cold!. No, I dont have any data logger yet Keith. I'm wanting to take that step to the next level on set-up knowledge. So try the X457 huh? I just dont think that 1717 will turn it on 5s but we'll see.

Yeah thats a lot of prop for a 1717 but so is a x648. The x648 and x455 are actually really close in terms of load given their pitch and diameter. The x457 is just a hair larger. Give it a try and see what happens. If you have a GPS use it, then run it with the x450 and GPS it again. If it picks up speed with the smaller prop you know the x457 is too big.

                        EDIT:
FYI- Stay with 5s when trying these larger props. If you want to run 6s on this motor you will have to go way down in prop size regardless of how well this works.

Sounds good keith. Ya that big of prop on 6s equals Gonna stay with the 5s on this hull. Been also thinking about Selling already and building something larger.

I'm sure you are aware that you can start smaller and move up................also, your ice cold temps were not indicative of a 1 minute open throttle run on big water. Just play it "cool"
