Looking real sharp Rich!
First time I have seen the inline hardware on the hull, looks killer. Nice reinforcement job on the motor mount with the cloth covering the base of the mount...great idea.
Look forward to seeing more and especially the twin setup.
Happy Building

Did you notice my "CUSTOM" water pick-up built into the right rear sponsoon?? I have been wanting to try it for a while, hopefully it will be enough cooling! I will start on the twin next week, waiting on some parts..Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

Nice hardware... About the water p/u. Did you run the tube stright thru from top to bottem or is it angled as it goes thru. Im thinking the water will pass right over the pick up if it is straight thru. Angled will draw more water into vrs passing over. Water entering at an angle will have less resistance than trying to change directions 90 degrees to go stright up... Just my thoughts...Twin cat 9xl,... 29 titan 8xl,....37 in mono kb48 8xl.... 42 in twin elc cat project... 42 in gasser cat 260 modded zenoh''' planes and trucks....Comment

TXboatpilot --- you will want a small v channel in front of that pick up that rolls right in to the hole you will get plenty of water if you do it right. that is how we did the race boats at Spectre. I have been planning on the same style of pick up for my boats, I just have not gotten that far yet. looks goodThe Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.Comment

The pictures dont show it, but there is a channel or V cut before the entrance.. The tube is angled where it meets the hull, it should "grab" the water and shoot it up the tube with good force!!!Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

I will try my Neu 1515/1Y and Cuda 125 to start... After some testing, I will put a nice sport set-up in it... Most likely a 10XL with a Cuda 80 or 125.
... I want a Neu 1512/2.5D or 1512/3D for some testing..
I am setting this up for all FUN, it will see a few different motor & esc combos...Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

Well I ran the SK-I for the first time over the weekend, she hit 35.5 mph.. Boat is very stable, turns very well, and sits up on plane very nice.. I used a CC Bar80 esc and BJ26 motor (1500kv) on 4S2P 3700mAh 25C lipos in parallel, with a CF48 prop.... I ran for about 2 min. and the esc came in at 86deg. and the motor was 83deg.... Lipos came in at 89 deg... Overall, I am pleased with the BJ26 motor, it runs cool and has plenty of tourqe for this hull....
Next I will test this same motor and esc set-up on 5S lipo... I will use a 2S pack on the left and a 3S pack on the right for a total of 5S..... They will be 4000mAh 25C lipos......
I have a Neu 1512/3D (1700KV) on the way! I cant wait to try it....Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

I went to the pond today!! Ran Skunky-I and she did great.. I ran the same BJ26 motor, went with 5S ( 1/ 2S pack and 1/ 3S pack)... Ran the same CF48 prop, she hit 39.2mph on the gps..
Next, I am changing out the motor to a Neu 1512/3D... I will run it on 4S first to see how she runs...
I could see water shooting out the side exit, very well!! I am pleased with the water pickup I mounted in the bottom right rear sponson..
I will switch to M445, when I install the Neu... I will try to make some more runs tomarrow!!
