    ProBoat 1/8 Miss Llumar Build

    I decided to start the build today. Still waiting on the majority of the hardware to show up.

    Mounted the rudder bracket with 2 water "pick-up tubes" as well as the water "exit tubes" in the side of the hull.

    For the exit tubes, I found two "Aircraft nuts" with plastic inserts and inserted a duplicate set of "pick-up" tubes through the inserts and then inserted the nuts in the pre-existing holes in the hull. With the "exit tubes" aimed to the sky, it should make determining the water flow very easy

            Thanks TX;
            I love my 1/12 Llumar version and the 1/8 should be even more fun.

            As for the motor and speed controller, still a bit "up in the air", The speed controller will probably be one of the new High Voltage Hyrdas, They are good to 50V and come in a few different current ratings, Probably the 180 Amp version. The motor that was suggested by Daren Jordan is this one in the 1.5Y variation;

                        Doug; That's a bit personal, don't you think

                        Here it is.

                        I don't think that you have suggested a motor for 8S-10S configurations,,,,would you like to "weigh in"

                            on a one 8th scale the strut needs to be mounted under the hull for scale appearance. If its mounted on the back it will be DQ'd.
                            it is fully adjustable ( in most cased) so there is no real disadvantage other then you need to seal the hole under the hull with caulking

                            Oh and there is to some extent a prop size limit. . . because it would hit the hull. But still you would need one HUGE wheel to do that

                              Gotach thanks :). I think I am going with the under hull strut. I like the look.
