Thought I'd share a build with you guys...
I got the plan from XtremeRCboats (dutch site), mad by Bas Ladru. Extremely stable boat, good looking and easy to build.
The pics show the various stages up to today, still waiting for a coupler and the clear coat...
It gets:
Feigao 12L 2159kv
2x 2S 5000mA 40C (Zippy)
ESC Pulso 100A
Servo HXT10
Spektrum DX5
Flex 3.2mm, Dog Drive or M4, prop 37.5 to 42mm (according to tests)

Rudder is almost home made: I designed it, cut on a CNC router, then drilled and polished.
I know I have G-Freaked the cooling system with the dual pickups, but I just liked the looks of it...

.cdr = Corel Draw (version 13). I think I could export in autocad dxf, but cannot guarantee the result...

That's a flood channel. It will fill with water and turn the boat if capsized...

Well, finally a decent test, even if the weather was against us... too choppy to keep the boats on the water all the time. The Wasabi met the concrete bank once, minor damage as the tip is hardwood (made for this pond). The shape also allows it to run quite nice upside down, so, even with an unadjusted hull (weight on the wrong side, so flood channel does not work), I could bring it to shore.
Previous test was disappointing, as the timing was set to low for the 12L. It is now set to medium and it is like a different boat. After about 4 min of running 50% throttle, with short bursts when the wind calmed down, temperatures were very low (did not measure, as it was hand warm).
It really performed well on this chop with a 3 blade Graupner 42mm. The vids are not great and not from the time when I could actually hit the throttle, but I am quite satisfied...

Well guys, today was the first race for the Wasabi... a sort of short saw or more like a drag race. We had only about 80m on the channel, but it was a lot of fun! I had the 650 against a tunnel hull, an Apparition cat on a KD45 and a small HOTR hydro that was almost beating us all... until the wind started. I got second place in the first heat and first overall, so it was quite a good day for a boat that was not tested before the race...
Eco class was disappointing, I took second place as I went in with a Typhoon 450 against 3650s... I was praying that their batteries will not last... but they did...
