with that motor I doubt you would EVER notice the difference. That motor sips on the batts, very low amperage draw. I am super duper happy with my 20C $25 Rhino batts from hobbyking.

                  is yours the 4900mah?
could i ever run a single 4s if i made a special connector that leads to one plug?

so if i go two of the 20c, it wouldnt be a diff. from the two 30c batteries since the motor doesnt take much of the batt.

I would use two 4S in parallel, you need the weight since you are using lipos - boat was designed for NIMHs and 1 4S is about same weight as 1 6cell pack. I ALWAYS modify the leads coming out of the ESC to one - either deans or 5.5 mm plugs to the batteries. This way if you want to run 1 or 2 you just plug it in or use a Y adapter, respectively.

Mine were 4800 - 5000 mah, not less than 4500mah though.

Why dont you just run 2 lipos 2s each using stock configuration that will give you 14.8V?
