    Simons Bigger Cat.

    Here is the new baby.
    Hull
    850mm 33.5" long
    750mm 29.5" to rear step
    245mm 9 3/4" wide
    120mm 4 3/4" tunnel width
    35mm 1 3/8" tunnel depth

Designed and built with the aid of a lot of photos and a lot of reading.

The steps at the moment are 3 deg AoA and flat.
I now have a "blank canvas" and will follow the same route as I did with the smaller cat. I will run it as is and see what can be added later as far as ride flats and strakes are concerned.

    Why this Cat ?
I killed the mono and was happy doing so as I am not really a mono guy.
I chose to do another cat and a single for now.
The 7XL will drop in here and spin a 440 or bigger. I'll keep it to 4S for now but that may change

    Plans
This is the least drawn hull I have built so far, I have 4 photos of cats that are scribbled on as far as proportional dimensions go and a few basic dimensions of the hotr cat from Scott.

This is deffo a build by eye and fill in the gaps and see what comes out at the end.
It is built so that I can drop a pair of L cans in later if I feel the need to go twins.

Progress will be a bit slow on this as I am back on duty in the morning for the next 4 days and it is school holidays here too, so workshop time is limited.

This is what we have so far.

          Tyler. PM sent
Scott. No idea, but I am sure it will need ballast as do most of my mad wooden hulls.
Cornel. The 7XL is what I have for now. If this gets repowered it will be twin L cans on 6S

No plans on paper as this is a build to look good job, as usual.

          I'm working on it..

Simon, looking at your pictures something occurred to me.,.
are you going to "X reinforce" the center, it seems to me that it'll twist as you
power down the lake... just curious.

Jan There is a lot more wood to go in this one yet, I have test twisted it by hand (without the deck) and if a XL can on a 440 or bigger can beat that then I am buggered,

Graham I have what I need for now as far as dimensions, but I will be after your GPS one day as my last one is now at the bottom of the Quarry.
We'll sort out a morning there in the next month or so with any luck.

Very nice work Simon. I am curious as to why you need all those radios, as shown in pic 3, is that the way you communicate with the wify and kids when you are in the man cave???

Simon, beautiful balsa work - always a pleasure to watch your builds. Have you seen my Twintruder on twin BJ powerplants?

Just $200 for twin systems and you get nearly 60 mph on 6S... Just be sure you have room for the pile of batteries.

What wire/cable drives are you thinking?

Douggie, The radios are from an old hobby of mine

Alan The 30% is easy to hit. I will have the motor pretty much in the centre of the wide section at about 30% The packs will sit either side of the motor with a lot of fore/aft adjustment available.

I'll sort a few mock ups tonight and post pics.
