    Neu 1515 2.5d vs medusa 3680 1600kv

    I bench tested both motors since they were the topic of a heated discussion a while back . the 1515 and 3680 I figured where close in power output at similar Kv's

    The battery pack was a 4cell 5000mah lipo pack and the load was a 8-6 aircraft prop

    WHO WANTS TO SEE THE RESULTS

          Hmm, Looks pretty close. Medusa underrated its KV.

          I would love to see these 2 in an endurance test....
          My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

            temps are interesting,but to be fair the medusa is a heavier motor,plus those fins are running the 'right' way for prop blast.
            I have a medusa 1600kv in my hand now ready to fit in a 33" mono.
            It would be good to see the test with same kv Fiegoa XL motor.
            thanks for posting Peter..

              I have to say even on 4 cells both motors are scary , the max safe rpm for the prop was exeeded by about 3000rpm , if I was to run these on 6cells I don't even want to be in the same room...............

                This is great!
                what's interesting to me is the constant power ratings, the Medusa edged out over the Nue and also the Batts were a tad low on the Medusa vs the Nue test
                very close numbers, and the Medusa is how much cheaper?
                I would love to see a XL motor ran on this test to see how it does..

                Great Job Man!

                  He,he,we used to run a 150mph plane on a Neu 1907 1.5y on 6S with a 8-8 prop,it had to be nitro prop.It had to be catupulted of a launcher,but once the high pitch bit,WOW!
                  Power was awesome.

                    Great info Peter!
                    both are very, very similar except when it comes to the price tag...
                    one thing though... lab racing is VERY different then real racing, before making
                    rash assumptions one should have seen/used them both in action.
                    IMO of course.

                        Neu=$210
                        Medusa=$125

                        I am still going with the Neu
                        My bud is going to run the 1600 Medusa in his Whiplash and I am going to run the Neu both on 4s1p Hyperion 5500 35c cells. I am hoping they will be very comparable.
