SOLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
My pride and joy is not getting the action she deserves. Here she is, the (nearly) 60 mph hydro that actually looks scale! This one is also race ready, tuned and tricked, but still spec!
$230 + shipping/insurance: Hull/hardware
$275 + shipping/insurance: Hull/hardware and motor
$350 + shipping/insurance: ARR (just add rx and batts). ESC is new himodel 125 amp BEC 2-7S, silicone sealed, water cooled and plasti-dipped by me. Ran this ESC 2 times to be sure it works, and that it does - absolutely no glitchy, even on 6S using BEC!!
Add x642 prop, b/s for $25 more.
Bought this hull new (untainted by nitro chemicals) and converted it myself this summer - still has no blemishes/defects/damage - scuffed sponsons with 400 grit sandpaper. Added CF to tunnel, retrofitted stock fixed drive line with adjustable .078" Wholt drive wire with bearingized strut and high flow rudder. Motor mount is simple aluminum, and also adjustable. Custom brackets allow removal of mount and motor and also provide more structural stiffness to hull. It is also set up for a whip antenna, but I have successfully used tactic/spectrum rx since CF is on the floor only.
Custom ESC mount velcros to these mini rails and helps keep COG forward - the main problem with these hulls. I added 3oz of ballast wrapped in pipe insulation to the tips of the sponsons and upgraded to stiffer turn fin.
High torque servo and .078" rudder linkage have proven very solid and were set up to pull rudder into right turns - eliminating linkage flex.
Stock motor was purchased new and has always used a thrust bearing, .078" coupler included.
Tape-down subhatch with foam cabin seal provides water-tightness (unless you flip, then you may get minor water infiltration), I always throw some strips over the cabin and top hatch just to be sure.
I run this on 4-6S with a X642 bs prop for speeds in the lower 40s, upper 40's/lower 50s and upper 50s, respectively.
