    FS: Proboat Elam nitro conversion

    SOLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

My pride and joy is not getting the action she deserves. Here she is, the (nearly) 60 mph hydro that actually looks scale! This one is also race ready, tuned and tricked, but still spec!

    $230 + shipping/insurance: Hull/hardware
    $275 + shipping/insurance: Hull/hardware and motor
$350 + shipping/insurance: ARR (just add rx and batts). ESC is new himodel 125 amp BEC 2-7S, silicone sealed, water cooled and plasti-dipped by me. Ran this ESC 2 times to be sure it works, and that it does - absolutely no glitchy, even on 6S using BEC!!
    Add x642 prop, b/s for $25 more.

Bought this hull new (untainted by nitro chemicals) and converted it myself this summer - still has no blemishes/defects/damage - scuffed sponsons with 400 grit sandpaper. Added CF to tunnel, retrofitted stock fixed drive line with adjustable .078" Wholt drive wire with bearingized strut and high flow rudder. Motor mount is simple aluminum, and also adjustable. Custom brackets allow removal of mount and motor and also provide more structural stiffness to hull. It is also set up for a whip antenna, but I have successfully used tactic/spectrum rx since CF is on the floor only.

Custom ESC mount velcros to these mini rails and helps keep COG forward - the main problem with these hulls. I added 3oz of ballast wrapped in pipe insulation to the tips of the sponsons and upgraded to stiffer turn fin.

High torque servo and .078" rudder linkage have proven very solid and were set up to pull rudder into right turns - eliminating linkage flex.

Stock motor was purchased new and has always used a thrust bearing, .078" coupler included.

Tape-down subhatch with foam cabin seal provides water-tightness (unless you flip, then you may get minor water infiltration), I always throw some strips over the cabin and top hatch just to be sure.

I run this on 4-6S with a X642 bs prop for speeds in the lower 40s, upper 40's/lower 50s and upper 50s, respectively.

3S packs fit nicely up in the front of the tunnel and can be positioned even into the sponsons if ballast is needed. Can be secured with velcro or more flotation. ESC mount is removable and allows inserting batteries.

Here is sequence of preparation once batteries are snugly inserted. I usually leave ESC mount attached to ESC during battery switching, with wires and hoses as they are, there is just enough room to get ESC out of way for battery placement on each side. Simple yet elegant. Subhatch is 1/8" plexiglass with guides (white) and canopy seal (piece of pool noodle).

Thanks brother, GPS yes, 58mph......... smoooookin. Hate to have to sell, but you know when the wallet pinches you in the a$$ you jump...

I also would like to see someone in a nicer climate (where the ponds are not froze for 7 months of the year) enjoy this rockin ride a little more often than I. If it don't sell for askin price, she will be the flagship for my spec class racers.

Hey man, were you running the Proboat motor in this? I'm very interested in the hull in hardware combo.

Yes sir, Proboat motor. Tried the UL1 motor, but didn't like the 4S limitation with that set up... Love the flexibility of Proboat's superior motor.

If you want the hull and hardware, no prob. I could have her in the mail today if you decide, its gotta be within the next hour though. I will start packin her up when the paypal hits.

Unless I am out of town I keep an eye on things - I work on the computer and it ends up being quite a bit of the time....

Looks like I will be able to get it dropped off before noon. I threw in the boat stand (not mentioned in the add) and left the drive dog and prop nut on there as freebees. I found the original box and she is sitting in there happy to go play during the winter instead of hold up dust in the shop with the rest of the bummed out troupe.

Have fun with her and keep us posted how she works out for ya.
