    Connector resistance

I was surprised to see that a 200 amp BK 5.5 bullet connector (.000111 ohms) has higher resistance than an ultra Deans connector (.000091 ohms). Less resistance means higher amps and more speed. What about paralleling 2 deans prongs for even better resistance than the bullets and making it a single connector like a bullet for (0.000045)

Does this mean the bullet design holds a better spring tension for better contact when hot to make it better than a Deans?

Ok, so the 5.5 bullet is .000060 ohms

      Deans is .000090 ohms

      4 mm bullet is .000250

Looks like you need to go to a 5.5 or larger to better than a Deans?

Someone with a radar gun or some other way to accurately clock their speed should put each one of these connectors on their boat and see the difference in speed between them

It would be way too small to know along with changing conditions, etc...

I think a good test would be to use a thermometer on different connectors in the same setup, after each run.

The missing part of the puzzle here is that these tests were with NEW Deans connectors. They don't stay new long, and their resistance grows larger especially when using high voltage. The contacts corrode fast and the springs grow weak. OTOH a quality gold bullet will last longer with lower resistance. However, remember that connectors are expendible items and should be replaced regularly as they wear, regardless of type.

The only problem I can see with Deans is them getting dirty like any other connector can. I have Deans that are years old and they are still tight and hold well.
