what kind of caps to add to older ul-1 speed control?

i got an older speed control from a friend that has little use for my scratch cat, but has the old smaller cap on it. i just want to add a cap before i plug it in and risk ruining it. what value would be best? it currently has 25v 680. i also have a newer esc in my ul-1 with 35v 1500. any suggestions?

The 1500 uf at 25v should be fine. The Radio shack cap should be sufficient if you already have it.
