    typical wiring in parallel

ok I have two 6s 5000 mah packs and i want to run 6s2p

I was told by castle tech today that I cant just seperate the dbl bat leads on a hydra 240 and seperate them so I end up with two posatives and two negatives then plug eack 6s into its own set of wire leads

bottom line is you cant seperate the dble leads on a esc....... so says castle?

    is this true?

Yes sir but you MUST solder the two like wires (reds, blacks) together first near the esc., then you'll have connections for both of your packs.

      Make sense?
      Need a pic?

sure doug.......pics for the dummy please

it just seems like the leads would automaticaly be connected together at the esc...is it because the hydra 240 esc is made up of two esc's together?

It's like getting 2 1 gallon cans of paint - even though they are supposed to be the same if you mix the 2 cans the final result will be that everything will match.

                  I think not...
the cables feed different boards and you want the same power on each board,
the only way to achieve that is by joining the reds on one plug, joining the blacks in one plug and
using only two wires to feed from the batteries.

                    Here ya go Nick.
I bind the wires together with 18 ga. solid strand copper wire then solder them with a good hot iron. Get the job done and get out.
If you need the wires to bend back over the control as I did in this case, keep that in mind before you strip and solder them. Make sure all the wires are the same length before you start.

                    Hope this helps.

I agree that the two leads need to be soldered together because they come from seperate boards. One pack could be putting out more power than the other which would mess with the esc. Solder them together, then make a parallel harness.

Doug, that part about securing them with copper wire first is a great tip! I thought i was the only one who did that!!!!!!
Saves using aligator clips to hold stuff together whilst its soldered
