    H&m intruder s

Been quite busy getting ready the Turbochopper, but I did manage to put the pieces into this one also.

Hull was quite ok, got the kevlar treatment (I had no carbon left, it would have looked better).
Hardware is H&M, except for the motor support, designed by me and cut on a CNC router.

Setup is now: Leopard 4074, Turnigy Monster 2000 watercooled, Turnigy 2 x 2S 5800 30C (option to go 5S for some testing), X442 (same as o the Turbochopper, I only have one ).

I did some test runs with a Turnigy 180A ESC on Saturday and it flies... literally... the strut was neutral and, with a 2" chop, it was taking off. I'll get some pics of the run later on.
Still needs a paint job or decals (better), so stay tuned

Paint is done, I kept it as simple as possible. I wanted to leave a lot of white and it came out quite decent. If the weather will allow it, I'll get some videos today...

Nice job. I have been contemplating re-painting my Intruder also. I have Darin Jordan'sold one. I really like the O'berto scheme.

... that was a bit of inspiration to my choice of colors... and the fact that I had nothing else on stock :p

Finally got to run it on 5S today... same X442 prop, Leopard 4074, Monster 2000 Turnigy ESC. The batteries were 2x5S Zippy 2200mA 40C in parallel, so enough juice for the motor. See the picture for the result... I was ecstatic!! Another 1.5kph and I'm there...

I tested it with a X445, but only got to about 93kph... so next step is to try 6S, but I'm afraid to push the motor at its limit... any suggestions? Maybe a prop around 43mm or something in the 6xx series?

                            Finally over 100 kph

Played a lot today with props and timing... no luck. The only solution was to change the ESC with a Turnigy 180A. The old Monster 200A did not perform correctly as it has a governor mode that cannot be disabled...
After a couple of runs I got to 101... and everything was still nice and cool inside. This Leopard 4074 is very nice....
One try with a 45mm prop got me down to 92kph, so I'm sticking to the X442 for now.

Any ideas on props? I do not really want to go 6S, as the Leopard is a 2200kv...

Try something in the x6 series.
(a M6 series is better but I don't thimk they are offered for some strange reason)

Maybe a x640 or a x642. remember to cut off the toung area.

                              My H&M Drifter L went over 100 KPH with a x640 prop.

(and it was a home ballanced Aluminum junk prop)

Berilluim props are much stronger and faster too, I just didn't have one at the time.
