    DF 29 M440+ MMM 2200 +6s = ok?

Hi all, I just tested the boat with 4s pack

That was heavy and in front of the motor, so cog was way off.

Tomorrow I could test it on 40C 5000mAh 3S lipos(2x3S)-one pack both sides of the motor= good cog. -so 6S is next.

What do you think, the esc is rated 6s and the 2200kv(rated 60.000rpm) should be ok for this size boat and the X440 is a small prop.

I have x637,640 ,642 ,M445 and S220 props aswell. The s220 on 6s would be to much right

so what would you do and what to expect of it...

Firstly kill that damn music..lol. A little annoying! She seems to run well, what were the temperature on the motor/esc? You could easily move up to a X/M442 and see how the motor handles the prop. And slowly work up in size. I would definitely try a S215, S220 as well.

get some 2S instead of one 4S you'll be able to get the COG under 30%, she's going to start flying!

Firstly that annoying music or no sound -the first minute or so the camera recorded sound but after that it was silent.

        Motor was 45 deg.c.

esc about the same, but the fan did kick in .

        (no water cooling used! )

On 4s the x640 should work.

But the question is will the 6s kill the boat . -that´s 55k rpm on full packs.

I guess that I will find that out soon...

And the 2S pacs... -I have 2 of 20/30C 5000mAh , so they might not provide the current needed. I dont know.

2200KV and 6S is more a SAW configuration than anything else!
two 20/30C 5000mAh 2S is not bad Pate... that's what I'm running on my 29" DF copy, but not with 2200KV, I have a 8XL, KV is around 2080 so I can spin a bit bigger prop than you probably can!

The 6S configuration would be just to see how fast it is......
So naturally I would like to test it.

The 8XL(feigao) and 2200 castle/Neu are so different motors that I cant compare the 2.

I had 8XL on 32 hotr cat on 4s, but this 2200 looooooo-oong can feels much better quality, -runs cool and the sound is... great. -but I cant really say cause I have not had the 8Xl on this hull.

Castle says this combo draws about 4-5KW so I really think the 20c batts are too small.....

strang you are running 6s on a 2200 Castle motor and only getting these speeds
there are some DFs of youtube running a 8XL on 4s that look faster..
but the Castle on 4s with a S220 would fly!

So maybe I should test the s220 and 4s first? -and if that wont move it in with the 6S

So the next test will be with these:

I run 2 of those motors in a twin cat. Each on 5s1p and x447 props. They are cool as can be after a 3 minute run. I am by no means condoning 6s, just my findings on 5s. They truly are 4s motors in a boat. Definately are gonna want the water jackets from ose though.

I'd stick with 4s and get a x445 prop and water cooling.

But the question is will the 6s kill the boat .

                        QUOTE]

No sir, the BOAT will probably be fine, it will stink, but other than that.....

That is a 4s hull and motor. Put a wheel on it and run it someplace where it can breath. Get a M445, you may have to back cut it approx. 1mm.
6s with that motor is hot for even a SAWs setup.

I just checked and I do have M445(not yet balanced), but what do you guys think of the s220, ok to try? -few second run and temp check.

I will get another esc soon that is better suited for boats, another himodel 200A I guess.

And for the motor I will get the cooling jacket, but dont have one yet. The motor stays cool on x440 atleast. -and I did add cooling to the mount after that run(I know that is not as good like proper cooling jacket ,but it will cool it a bit).

AND THE PROP USED ON THAT VIDEO WAS X440 NOT M440, SORRY !

                            Interesting.

Just returned from the sea and here are the results on 4S

                            S215 63.7 km/h ~39 mp/h

                            S220 79.7 km/h ~49.5 mp/h

Temps, motor max was 27 C and the esc was 34 C. -only cooling was done using cooled motor mount.. .-and water did cool a bit after the hatch tape ripped off on one side, after that dive on the video. -Glad I had coated the esc and rx with electronic lacker.

Gps off... well it was faster but it went flying and diving

so I guess that the S220 with proper tuning will get this thing going.
